"If you want a good marriage, become a student of marriage. If you want a great marriage, become a student of your marriage."
Every marriage has its own story. Its own strengths and vulnerabilities. Its own ways of connecting, getting hurt, pulling apart, and finding its way back.
Sometimes couples get stuck in patterns: the same arguments, the same shutdowns, the same distance. But not every marriage struggle is a communication problem. A betrayal may have shaken the foundation of trust. A major transition, loss, illness, parenting season, sexual difficulty, or years of accumulated hurt may have changed the relationship in ways neither of you quite knows how to navigate.
At ReGenesis Counseling in Plant City, Florida, marriage counseling is an opportunity to slow things down and become a student of your marriage.
Together, we'll work to understand what has happened between you, what is happening now, and what each of you needs for the relationship to move forward. That may mean changing a destructive conflict cycle, rebuilding trust, learning to reconnect after years of distance, or finding your way through a difficult season neither of you expected.
This isn't about deciding who is to blame or which spouse needs to be fixed. It's about understanding your marriage well enough to know what it needs next.
You don't have to have that figured out before you come in.
That's part of the work we'll do together.

Learn to navigate recurring conflict without escalating or shutting down, and begin to really hear each other again instead of just reacting.
Rebuild trust after betrayal, secrecy, or emotional disconnection, and strengthen the emotional and physical intimacy that's grown distant.
Work through the pressures that strain a marriage, parenting, blended families, finances, or major life transitions, as a team instead of adversaries.
For more than 25 years as a counselor, pastor, and hospital chaplain, I’ve walked side by side with people in the grip of some of life’s most difficult moments. In those moments, I’ve witnessed something miraculous and deeply beautiful: the human capacity to rise, heal, and begin again.
Many of us were taught to carry pain alone, to suck it up and avoid burdening others. This can be the reason our pain grows so heavy in the first place. Together, we can lift that weight, untangle what has been knotted underneath, and create a path forward, one that aligns with your heart, your life goals, and the story God is still writing in you.

Marriage Counseling is a place to be honest about how hard things have gotten, without choosing sides, keeping score, or pretending everything is fine.
Together, we'll look at the cycles you keep getting stuck in, the same arguments, the same shutdowns, the same distance, and begin to name what each of you is truly needing but may not know how to ask for. Instead of focusing on who's right or wrong, we pay attention to how you're reaching for each other, how you protect yourselves when you're hurt, and how you can begin to respond differently.
Marriage Counseling can help you improve communication, navigate recurring conflict, rebuild trust after betrayal or emotional disconnection, strengthen intimacy, and work through stressors like parenting, blended families, money, or life transitions.
I'm neither a psychologist nor psychiatrist. My role is not to diagnose or treat you as a set of symptoms, but to walk with you as you do the work of healing your marriage.
Cost is often the first worry people have before reaching out, and we don't want it to be the reason you wait. Our session fees run $65 to $165, based on a sliding scale tied to your household income, so you're never paying more than what actually fits. Curious where you'd land on the scale, or want to explore additional financial assistance? Visit our Fees & Financial Options page to find out.
Currently, we do not accept insurance.

Many counseling practitioners work within a standard 50-minute session. My approach is a little different.
Most sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes, with up to 30 minutes of added flexibility when needed. This helps create enough room for the process to unfold naturally without feeling rushed, especially when something important, tender, or emotionally complex is being shared.
This can be especially helpful in couples work, where it often takes time for both people to feel settled, heard, and ready to move into deeper parts of the heart. The added time is available when it serves the session, but it is never meant to feel forced.
If you need to keep your session within a specific time frame on a particular day, just let me know when you arrive, and we will work within that window.
The easiest and preferred way to get started is by scheduling a free 20-minute introductory conversation. It gives us a simple, no-pressure chance to connect, hear a little about what you are looking for, and see whether this feels like a good fit.
If you prefer, you are also welcome to text, call, or email. Phone/Text: (813) 392-9224. Email: hello@newregenesis.com. Or schedule your free 20-minute consultation directly online.
Text messages and emails are usually returned within 24 hours. If you call and reach voicemail, please leave a message, and your call will typically be returned within 24–48 hours.
